I’m currently a PhD student at the University of St Andrews. In my research I look at how to support children in creating visual representations of abstract data, and how they engage in that creation process. For more information about this research please check out the page on Investigating Visualization with Children.

My interests include Information Visualization (I’m especially interested in helping non-experts use InfoVis) , Data Physicalization and Human Computer Interaction. Broadly I’m interested in creating tools to aid in teaching new concepts, fostering collaborative activity, and using technology to create engaging and useful experiences.

If you would like to chat about any of the projects I have been involved in, potential future projects, or just want to say hello drop me a line at hello@fearnb.com.
